Major Purpose


We are looking for a bright professional to join our research and development team. The work we do is diverse, challenging and rewarding. The UI/UX software developer reports to the Vice President of Product Development and is part of a team responsible creating the best user interface and experience for our applications. Your focus will be on designing the presentation and interactivity of the product. The UI/UX designer will work closely with other UX and front-end developers to develop web applications using Angular as the frontend framework and Java, MySQL in the backend.


This position will facilitate the design and implementation of features for a media monitoring and media outreach platform. Agility PR Solutions develops state of the art tools to allow public relations professionals to target media influencers and to monitor their businesses in the media.

 Key Responsibilities

 

  • Work on new features within existing products as well as new products.
  • Interact with stakeholders to understand problems and validate proposed solutions.
  • Creating production ready mockups showing workflow and interaction states with functional annotations.
  • Reviewing and implementing designs from prototype to production while ensuring code maintainability and applying software engineering. practices including unit testing source control, static code analysis and continuous integration.
  • Participate in maintaining production code over time by applying upgrades and bug fixes.
  • Ensure code maintainability and best coding practices by participating in code reviews.
  • Using online tools, such as screen readers, to aid their research and improve accessibility.
  • Document work and report progress to the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in UI/UX development.
  • Degree or diploma in computer science, or computer related field.
  • 2+ years’ hands-on experience with HTML and CSS.
  • Ability to translate a mockup to HTML/CSS accurately (attention to detail).
  • Experience with the git, linux, code-review and continuous integration.
  • Experience in developing UI for a variety of platforms including web, smartphones, tablets, and various web browsers.
  • Experience with digital design tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Adobe XD.
  • Experience developing and maintaining design wireframes (basic mock-ups of applications) and specifications.
